Not to share our own wealth with the poor is theft from the poor and deprivation of their means of life; we do not possess our own wealth, but theirs.
— St. John Chrysostom

We Value Accountability!

ARDF's ultimate objective is to efficiently connect Anglican churches with needed resources to more effectively meet the needs of their communities, resulting in a greater witness to the Kingdom of Christ. Financial accountability and stewardship play a large part in this commitment to excellence.

Donations to our General Funds: Whether you give to the General Fund for Disaster Relief, or the Nehemiah Fund for Development Projects, your gift will be used as most needed.

Donations to Specific Projects or Events: All gifts are used as designated. However, in the unlikely event that a project or relief event becomes over-funded, your gift will be applied to a similar project or where needed the most.

Administrative Fees: In order to keep our organization running, 10% of all donations designated for development projects or relief efforts go towards ARDF administrative purposes. We want our partners and their communities to thrive, and a healthy ARDF enables us to resource our partners with excellence.

Accountability:
ARDF is recognized by many charity evaluators and accountability organizations such as GuideStar, The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), Better Business Bureaus, and Charity Navigator, the nations largest charity evaluator organization.

ARDF’s Finance Q&A

What types of donations does ARDF receive?
ARDF has two main categories of funding: restricted and unrestricted. Restricted funding is money donated and set aside for specific things, like a particular development project. Unrestricted funding is money that can be used for a variety of things at the discretion of the organization, often termed “general” funds.

Where does ARDF’s General Fund for Disaster Relief and Nehemiah Project Fund fit in?
Both of these funds are general funds within restricted categories. The Fund for Disaster Relief is a general relief fund, meaning that money donated can go toward any relief event, but not towards a development project. The Nehemiah Fund is a general fund designated for development projects. With these funds, ARDF can respond quickly to both relief events or development project needs.

Where does my donation go when I designate it for a specific project or relief effort?
ARDF makes every effort to respect our donors intentions, so all gifts will be used as designated. However, in the unlikely event that a project or relief event becomes over-funded, your gift will be applied to a similar project or where needed the most. ARDF takes an administrative fee of 10% from all donations.

What are admin fees and why are they important?
ARDF assesses a fee of 10% on all donations to support ongoing operations. Administrative fees support ARDF communications, and church and donor support, as well as expenses related to managing projects and relief, such as bank wiring fees.

Does ARDF process pass-through donations?
Not typically. Pass-through donations are a way for a person or organization to use ARDF to send money to another entity overseas. If ARDF already has a strong existing relationship with the international partner, we may consider sending the additional funding. Please contact us directly if you would like to discuss. When ARDF does process a pass-through donation, we assess our 10% administrative fee to cover the cost of providing this service.

How does ARDF pay staff salaries and fund its operations?
ARDF pays staff salaries and operating expenses out of unrestricted general funds. We raise funds specifically for this, and our administrative fee also contributes to this fund. We have a special group of monthly donors called Proven Partners who give to support this critical resource. We are so thankful for the trust our monthly partners give us in handling their donations well, because all of this enables our organization to do our work more efficiently and according to best practices. This results in a greater ability to serve our global partners and domestic disaster response network!

How is ARDF financially accountable?
ARDF is recognized by many charity evaluators and accountability organizations such as GuideStar, The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), Better Business Bureaus, and Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest charity evaluator organization. We also maintain annually audited financial statements and our public 990 report is readily available on our website.
